LAHORE: An accountability court on Tuesday extended judicial remand of Former federal minister Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique till April, in Paragon Housing Society scandal.
As per details, Khawaja Saad Rafique skipped today’s court appearance while Salman Rafique appeared before the court.
As soon as the hearing resumed, the jail authorities submitted Khawaja Saad’s application seeking exemption from court appearance due to National Assembly’s standing committee meeting in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, the NAB authorities also apprised the court Investigation Officer (IO) of the case is ill and he cannot appear before the court.

To this, the court ordered to make sure his appearance on the next hearing of the case and adjourned the proceedings until April 4.
National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had launched an investigation into the alleged scam in November last year after a number of victims staged protests and held a press conference at the Lahore Press Club against the fraud committed by Ashiana Iqbal Housing Society.
Last year, the anti-graft authority arrested former Lahore Development Authority (LDA) director general Ahad Khan Cheema and others over allegations of corruption in the Ashiana Iqbal Housing Society scam.
