Young Umer Khan bags Emerging Player of the tournament award

Karachi Kings’ Umer Khan won emerging player of the tournament award in HBL PSL season four, for his outstanding bowling throughout the league.

The 19-year-old has dismissed Umar Akmal, Rilee Roussow, Shane Watson (twice), Dan Christian, Shoaib Malik, James Vince, Corey Anderson, Luke Ronchi Hussain Talat, Sohail Akhtar, A.B. de Villiers and Shan Masood other than Delport and Walton in his PSL 4 campaign.

He ended with figures of 2-16 in his quota of four overs.

Quetta Gladiators’ flamboyant all-rounder Shane Watson was announced as Player of the Tournament and best batsman of the tournament award for scoring most runs in the tournament. While Peshawar Zalmi’s Hasan Ali claimed Bowler of the Tournament award.

Islamabad United won the Spirit of Cricket award which they dedicated the prize money to their all-rounder Asif Ali whose daughter is ill.

Kieron Pollard was named as the best fielder of the tournament, while Luke Ronchi won the Safe Hands award.

On Sunday, Quetta Gladiators beat Peshawar Zalmi by eight wickets to lift the coveted title of the Pakistan Super League in Karachi.
