Bismah Maroof credits bowlers for a win against South Africa

Pakistan captain Bismah Maroof credited bowlers for showing courage against South Africa at their home ground and notching an eight-wicket victory from them.

“I think our bowlers did a great job and led the home side down in batting,” Bismah said in a video message.

Bismah praised the young Fatima Sana, who took a wicket conceding 23 runs on his debut, for showing a spark. “She had worked hard in the nets. We knew that she had the capacity to bowl strongly on such fast wickets,” she said.

Talking about Sana Mir’s splendid bowling figures of 4-11, Bismah said that her experience count every time for the team and his presence is an inspiration to all the players in the side.

“Sana knows well to deliver on crunchy moments. She backed up the bowlers today as well which in result helped us get rid of opponents on just 66 runs,” she said.

The left-handed batsman said that they will try to continue the winning streak in next two games. “I am confident and looking forward to continuing the winning momentum as this series is important for us being a part of ICC Women’s Championship,” she concluded.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan clinched their first ODI of three-match series by eight wickets. They will play their second ODI on May 9 and third on May 12.
